One purpose of the facility is to assist with the start-up of new food businesses, providing facilities and programs to help manage the transition from new product development, through commercialization, market launch and growth in sales, resulting in graduation and the establishment of their own facilities.

The Chinook Entrepreneur Challenge is a business plan writing competition designed and targeted toward new or existing business (individuals or teams) who have a sustainable and high-growth business idea. There is a general stream and a technology stream. Registration begins in January and training takes place between January and March.
Elevate is Community Future’s dynamic new business building program for youth and adults with a disability or health condition interested in starting a business. This program assists entrepreneurs locating their businesses in rural, remote or northern communities in Alberta. Elevate provides assistance, support and resources to qualified individuals who wish to become self-employed.
