Belen Geleta

Community Outreach Ambassador

Belen Geleta is a passionate small business advocate and Community Outreach Ambassador at Business Link. She is a proud Ethiopian Canadian and founder of Bunako, a mobile Ethiopian coffee ceremony service and coffee catering business that celebrates cultural storytelling through specialty coffee.

With a Bachelor of Commerce in Business Analytics from the University of Calgary, Belen’s academic journey was enriched by hands-on learning and leadership beyond the classroom. She served as President of the Ethiopian and Eritrean Student Association and took part in a business exchange at Flinders University in Australia, experiences that deepened her perspective and entrepreneurial mindset.

She has diverse experience spanning digital marketing, nonprofit consulting, and public sector work. At the City of Calgary, she contributed to developing a centralized data library to support data-driven decision-making, with a focus on measuring innovative problem-solving approaches. With a passion for using business to address social issues, Belen believes that newcomers and underrepresented communities add tremendous value to the fabric of Canada.

Known for her analytical thinking, collaborative spirit, and ability to connect data with real-world needs, Belen is dedicated to helping small business owners be aware of available resources and thrive through innovative strategies.

In her free time she enjoys playing soccer, dancing, and volunteering in her community and the entrepreneurial ecosystem.
